Pioneering services showcased at this year’s Pharmacy Show 2016
The Birmingham NEC once again played host to the Pharmacy Show on the 25 and 26 September where, exhibiting as part of the parent company, Quantum Pharma, our experts had the opportunity to make new contacts and showcase our innovative solutions for busy pharmacies. We also invited our valued customers to the VIP Lounge where they could enjoy networking with like-minded peers over a cup of coffee and learn more about the Group’s offerings
The show was full of activity and a great platform to demonstrate how our services have evolved to ensure pharmacies can meet the ever-growing demands of the Healthcare sector.
Catherine Brown, Commercial Director for Quantum Pharmaceutical said, "With our continued efforts to create our innovative service to help support the on-going challenges pharmacies face, the Pharmacy Show enabled the Quantum Pharmaceutical team to demonstrate why we’re the leaders in specials and obtains. Market-leading delivery times, late opening hours and a dedicated team of experts who are able to source hard-to-find products easily are just some of the benefits our valued customers experience."
The team were also joined by sister company and experts in medication adherence, Protomed, who showcased the highly anticipated Biodose Connect™. Building on the success of the Biodose® medication management trays, the pioneering telehealth version helps support medical adherence in patients with long-term conditions through its unique visual and audio reminders, aiding patients to take the right mediation, at the right dose, at the right time.
With around half of all medicines prescribed to those with long-term conditions not being taken as recommended1 resulting in 8% of hospital admission and readmissions2, Biodose Connect™ aims to be a proactive and preventative solution for patients managing their own medication.
Ian Pearce, Managing Director of the Medical Adherence division said "Since the launch of Biodose Connect™ in August, we have been eager to show the market what the medical adherence device can do to support those with long-term conditions. With its clever reminder systems and real-time adherence monitoring capabilities, the pioneering technology aims to support the Healthcare sector in keeping patients independent and healthy and subsequently, reducing both the human and financial costs. Feedback from those who saw a demonstration at the Pharmacy Show has been extremely positive with many appreciating how it could help to enhance patient outcomes in their healthcare setting."
We hope everyone who attended the show found it as useful and informative as we did. If you didn’t manage to visit us, we’re always happy to arrange a face-to-face meeting or a call at a time that is convenient for you.
