Quantum Pharmaceutical returns to Sanofi jobs fair
Quantum Pharmaceutical returned to the Sanofi jobs fair at its Fawdon Manufacturing Centre this month, as part of its ongoing quest to recruit the best and brightest from the pharma industry.
Back in 2012, Sanofi announced it would cease production at Fawdon by the middle of 2015, with a phased redundancy process in place for almost 250 employees. Sanofi organised a series of careers fairs to help introduce staff to new opportunities and this is Quantum Pharmaceutical's second visit, having attended the last fair in September 2014.
Head of Group HR Joy Toner and Group HR Manager Karen Kelso attended the fair in April to seek out technical and senior talent.
"We took away hundreds of CVs and were impressed with the candidates we met," said Joy.
Quantum Pharmaceutical is the UK's leading manufacturer and supplier of unlicensed medicines and special obtain products. With the recent expansion of its licensed products business and specialist facilities to manufacture bespoke sterile medicines for intravenous use, the team was keen to meet prospective employees with broad technical and industry expertise.
"Sanofi is a global player and uses sophisticated technology in its large-scale manufacturing processes while Quantum Pharmaceutical specialises in niche areas of healthcare providing bespoke services. As a growing business, we ensure that we benchmark ourselves against industry leaders and look for people within the industry with transferable skills," Karen explained.
"A career at Quantum Pharmaceutical is ideal for Sanofi employees who want to become specialists in an exciting niche in the thriving North East," Joy added.
